Job Description
- Conduct hydrological and hydrogeological studies, including surface and groundwater assessments.
- Monitor water quality, quantity, and usage using field data and remote sensing technologies.
- Analyze water-related data using GIS, hydrological modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, SWAT, MODFLOW).
- Evaluate the environmental and social impacts of water infrastructure projects.
- Design and implement watershed management and water conservation projects.
- Prepare technical reports, policy briefs, and scientific publications.
- Support regulatory compliance with national water policies and international standards (e.g., SDG 6).
- Liaise with stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and local communities.
- Provide training and technical guidance to junior staff or local water user groups.
- Assist in the development and review of water policies and management strategies.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant work experience in water management or environmental research.
- Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Familiarity with hydrological modeling and remote sensing.
- Knowledge of national and international water regulations and environmental laws.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
