Job Description
Over all Job Scope
Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, handle all production activities for the chemicals manufacturing operation; this individual will be involved with the daily activities of production, inventory, warehousing and distribution for the finished products being produced.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift.
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Supervise production line operation
- Approves incoming materials, in-process production and finished products, by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Production Engineer or Production Manager.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
- Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers..
- Communicate with Production Engineer and Production Manager.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area.
- Complete shift paper work.
- Assist in production as necessary.
- Manufacture and pack products as necessary.
- Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas.
- Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Requirements
- BS Degree in Chemicals or a related area.
- 3 to5 years of experience in a production role.
- Experience in manufacturing, operational and customer driven environments.
- Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion.
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel, Access, and Word & Microsoft Project.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of operating systems is a plus.
