Job Description
Over all Job Scope
- The Production Manager will coordinate all production planning activities for the chemicals manufacturing operation; this individual will be involved with the daily activities of production, inventory, warehousing and distribution for the finished products being produced.
- The Manager will serve as a liaison with our customers on matters related to planning.
- The ideal candidate for this position must be an advocate for production planning best practices and standardization at the plant level.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data
- Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments.
- Manage volume and manufacturing location changes between factories as needed to meet customer requirements
- Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished good in an effort to minimize costs and achieve the inventory goals
- Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability for all market needs.
- Train and audit plant personnel for compliance in production department standards and practices.
- Assure inside sales and plants utilize the ‘system’ through on site auditing and clear tracking metrics.
- Maintain accurate needs attention and obsolete inventory and implement measures for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement through training, tool development, and strategic planning.

Requirements
- BS Degree in Chemicals, preferred knowledge Business & logistics management or a related area.
- 7+ years of experience in a production planning/logistics/materials handling role.
- Experience in manufacturing, operational and customer driven environments.
- Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion.
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel, Access, and Word & Microsoft Project.
- Preferred Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of operating systems is a plus.
