Job Description
Natures Rule, a leader in sports nutrition product manufacturing that deals primarily in the development and private labeling of dietary supplements/sports nutrition are currently seeking a Product Development Individual to fill a position at our Cairo, Egypt facility.
This is a great opportunity to work in a world-class organization and a hands-on experience to develop sports/dietary supplement products.
This position will conduct day-to-day project work in the development of products and manufacturing processes for current and new dry mix sports/dietary supplement beverages.
POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with and develop a variety of dry mix sports product development projects with learning and development opportunities.
- Assist in formulating new products and making Table Tops.
- Assist in nutrition labeling and regulatory affairs for Canada, the US, Europe, Middle East, and other countries.
- Monitors trends in the sports nutrition industry to propose and focus on future projects.
- Develop and implements standard operating procedures for laboratories.
- Performs manual and automated testing following SOPs.
- Maintain appropriate testing control and quality assurance procedures.
- Perform sensory evaluation of raw materials.
- Assist in designing and maintaining experiment records.
- Assist product development manager in writing specifications for the manufacturing/production processes, instrumentation, and equipment, from the lab through production scale-up to meet product/process design requirements.
- Assist in performing analysis of data collected from various experiments for Product Evaluation.
- Coordinate/assist with special projects.
- Manage sample and documentation requests with lab and suppliers for new ingredients, organize documentation.
- Maintain accurate sourcing data, liaison for new ingredients with R&D and Purchasing teams.
- Review documentation for new ingredients to ensure compliance to set standards and specific requirements.
- Regularly reach out to new and current suppliers to inquire about trends and innovation.
- Enter all approved formulations and raw ingredients into SAP for production/handle all formula and raw material updates.
Job Requirements
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good practical knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety.
- Knowledge of ingredients, nutrition, calculation of nutrition, current CFIA and FDA knowledge on Dietary Supplements
- The practical experience of Genesis (Nutrition Software) would be considered an asset.
- Possess the ability to work independently as well as work effectively within a team.
- A positive, can-do attitude and deliver great customer service.
- Detail-oriented and has exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information as well as a high level of accuracy with the information.
- Ability to commit to a full-time weekly schedule
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, wire services, media monitoring software, and other public relation tools.
- Ability to work in a Research and Development lab/pilot plant with frequent exposure to protein and other powdery products, food products (including granulated products), and food science tools.
- Frequent exposure to food powders is possible.
