The position is 100%  located in Aswan, and is open for Egyptians.

Background:

Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is currently implementing a three-year project entitled "Women in Agriculture", in West Aswan and the rural areas of Kom Ombo, in collaboration with Drosos.  Both areas are considered two of the poorest areas in Aswan Governorate.  OHF piloted a similar project and pioneered the concept of engaging women in the agriculture sector, in small-scale home-based farming.  The project will scale up the activities and support women to establish either Kitchen Gardens (KGs) in their backyards, where space is available, or Rooftop Gardens (RGs), in case backyard space is not available. The project will allow women to operate and maintain this small garden to grow vegetables and fruits for home consumption, reducing the expenses of food purchases, or selling excess produce, generating additional income.  The project will empower women to participate in a productive workforce and collaborate with the CSOs to approach markets and improve the cost of operating their home gardens.

Position Objective:

The Field Officer is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, and ensuring smooth implementation of programme and operations' activities and adherence to logistic procedures.  The Field Officer will report to the Head of Agriculture and Food Security Programme.

Main Responsibilities:
 

  • Implement project activities at the district and field level in accordance to approved work plan and budget.Organise monthly meetings with Women Agriculture Committees in coordination with the Project Officer, and the Project Agronomist.
  • Facilitate to organise training, workshops, and seminars for Women Agriculture Committees.
  • Ensure proper documentation and sharing of all the appropriate documents with the Programme Manager and Field Staff.
  • Coordinate planning and implementing field level activities, in collaboration with CSOs and other key stakeholders, in a way to leverage resources and ensure adequate programme synergies.
  • Coordinate with local NGOs and other relevant networks for greater learning and cross-fertilization of new ideas, lessons learnt and good practices.
  • Assist the M&E Coordinator in gathering data for specific indicators.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3 years field experience in an NGO, ideally in a similar role.
  • Ability to work for long hours.
  • Very good knowledge of English and Arabic Languages.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as a part of a team.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Respect of confidentiality of information.
