Job Description

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships inside and outside the organization including customers and support groups country wide
  • Manage / coordinate the sales and operations planning process including supply / demand forecasting, inventory management, and on time delivery
  • Lead and manage production planning, purchasing, inventory control, forecasting, warehousing and other required supply chain areas.
  • Manage and execute procurement related functions (e.g., develop and implement contract management and procurement frameworks, sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements, draft and manage contracts, etc.)
  • Develop and implement supply chain best practices, inventory control, demand planning and other optimizations in order to grow the business
  • Develop supply chain key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals
  • Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the personnel, operations and budget of the organization’s supply chain.
  • Creates and motivates a team (cross-functionally, cross-departmentally), operates as the team leader. Sets up team role/responsibilities, provides direction, fosters effective team skills, and assures results are produced
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationship with his/her peers and workers. Has an excellent reputation as a team player who is willing to share resources and information and is well respected by all who work with him/her
  • Consistently develops people through coaching and counseling. Reinforces the company approach to leadership development, encourages reward and recognition, is attentive to succession planning needs, and effectively resolves difficult situations

Job Requirements

  • (+ 15) years of relevant experience
  • Significant and relevant supply chain management and leadership experience in progressively responsible positions in a manufacturing environment is a MUST.
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Master’s degree or MBA in supply chain (preferred but not a must)
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain techniques as well as materials management, logistics, purchasing and information management systems
  • Understanding of the manufacturing business including regulatory and environmental health and safety requirements, key internal and external customers, and functional area including marketing, sales, and finance
  • Understanding of financial and operating measures such as budgeting, standard costing and overheads costs
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, distribution, project management, and financial processes and associated performance measurement systems
  • Effective communication skills and how to impact and influence people
  • Experience in leading at least three functional areas in the material management (planning, purchasing, customer service and / or distribution)
  • Developed and implemented logistics systems including customer service, warehousing, planning, purchasing and transportation
  • Re-engineered an operation to reduce costs and increase productivity and effectiveness
  • Led, developed and motivated managers, both direct and indirect reports
  • Worked in diverse, cross functional group-team relationships
