Job Description
- Complete documentation such as pick lists, bills of lading, work orders and shipping orders using computer-based technology.
- Complete daily shipping and receiving logs.
- Dispatch freight for delivery and arrange for pickups.
- Record shipment data such as weight, charges and damages.
- Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue shipping instructions and delivery of materials.
- Rectify problems such as damages, shortages and non-conformance to specifications.
- Document and escalate any customer service issues and/or shipping/receiving errors.
- Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
- Develop business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
- Understand, work with and possibly help to develop logistic work.
- Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures.
- Liaise and negotiate with freight forwarder companies.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
- Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments.
- Resolve any arising problems or complaints.
- Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse and freight logistics.
- Fluency in oral/written English.
- Must be able to communicate effectively since the job primarily involves liaising with clients, couriers and other operational departments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-stakeholder environment.
