Job Description

  • Manage the export process from start to finish;
  • Use the most appropriate method of communication when being the first point of contact for all customers;
  • Obtain all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met;
  • Ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments;
  • Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met;
  • Ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions
  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
  • Receives products from Warehouse and coordinates delivery
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders/ shipping lines/Clearing agency to avoid any delays and reduce conflicts.
  • Makes sure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels
  • Manages activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.
  • Oversees inventory of goods and vehicles
  • Ensuring that all necessary documents are complete for each shipment, including customs forms, insurance certificates, and bills of lading
  • Coordinating with customers to ensure that all of their needs are met throughout the shipping process
  • Communicating with carriers to arrange pickup and delivery of goods, including arranging for trucks, trains, or ships to transport goods
  • Coordinating with customs brokers to ensure that all legal requirements are met by shipping companies
  • Preparing reports on shipments and transactions to keep management informed of progress
  • Communicating with vendors to ensure that all shipments are picked up or delivered on time

Job Requirements

  • Fluent English spoken & written.
  • Preferred to have French Language.
  • Have experience in shipping & clearance and food declarations 
  • Be a proficient computer user including the full Microsoft Office package
  • Be able to work in a busy environment, effectively prioritizing workload
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in export customer service required.
  • Experienced in coordinating with warehouse for shipments, quoting and negotiating rates, handling bookings, procurement, document preparation, researching and resolving freight discrepancies and customer complaints, corresponding with overseas offices, agents and clients and closing files when shipments are completed.
  • Strong data entry skills and being keen to details are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organization skills
