Job Description
SUMMARY
This role is responsible for assisting the product/engineering team in carrying out our product vision for financial inclusion.
Foundational UX research and design skills are a requirement, and the ability to think creatively and be proactive are highly encouraged. You are eager to learn, and dive deep into problems by utilizing UX research methods to uncover user pain points, craft user flows, and iterate on product designs. You are hands-on and value going through the UX design process. Being flexible, open to feedback, and a team player are all highly valued.
You will be a design leader to our agile development team, working closely with developers to oversee designs are being implemented properly. You will also partner with the product management team to understand business needs, balance user needs with stakeholder requests, and carry out refinements and improvements to the current Payments Platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- A seasoned UX generalist who can work from the concepting phase through to full UX sign-off
- UX Research
- Assist management in helping determine and carry out UX research methodologies to help craft design decisions
- UX Design
- Helps maintain static web assets and front-end style guide
- Effectively manages time to provide design deliverables within the scope of a project to meet expectations and deadlines
- Takes a holistic view of projects by thinking like an engineer, user, or product manager
- Able to communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas, designs, and research findings effectively for internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborates effectively with product and business to incorporate feedback
- Proactive learner, comfortable reaching out to co-workers when collaboration is necessary
Job Requirements
Basic
- 3+ years of experience in UX design
- Online portfolio showcasing UX design experience in the industry
Preferred
- Familiarity with UX design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Xd, etc. and adaptive to working in agile principals and processes (familiarity with Jira and Confluence a plus)
- Has experience applying research findings to user flows and iterating on low-high fidelity wireframes until pixel-perfect visual design is complete
- Experience organizing and facilitating user research, adept at interacting with end users to gather quantitative and qualitative data, and developing the output into actionable design direction
- Has a foundational understanding of the UX design process including staying up to date on user-centered design and usability best practices
- Comfortable and able to adapt to an environment that is undergoing corporate acquisitions
- Works in collaboration with engineering from problem-solving project scope to overseeing the implementation of designs
- Experience in finance, fintech
- Strong visual design skills a big plus
- Coding experience a big plus
- Security and compliance are a top priority and strict adherence to the policies and procedures of the Information Security Management System is mandatory
