Job Description
- Overall, in charge of production operations of CNC machines (shear, press brake, punch press, laser panel bender, press, tube bending, welding)
- Control all production processes to ensure work is in good condition with approval first off, a sample for each step.
- Plan work schedules for the production department to ensure production personnel meet the daily production schedule and meet the required expectation.
- Control costs and expenditure of the department within agreed budgets.
- Ensure all employees are fully trained against all standard operating procedures and training records are up to date.
- Promote best working practices in all production areas to achieve effectiveness, control, and efficiency
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice production engineering; planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Provide technical inputs to bids for new business and facilitate successful outcomes
- Develop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales
- Identify and justify capital equipment investment
- Analyses and improve material usage
- Analyses downtime, identify trends and develop solutions
- Ensure accuracy of Production Engineering procedures and documentation
- Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization
Job Requirements
- Educational Background mechanical production engineer
- Technical courses . Manufacturing and Production Management Courses+
- Experience of Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Six Sigma
- From 8 to10 years ‘of experience.
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering
- Able to demonstrate experience of working within a manufacturing environment
- Self-supervising within the expectations of Senior Management with
outcomes reviewed at Senior level - Understanding manufacturing processes
- Understanding engineering, scientific and other technical information
- Understand lean manufacturing
- Planning and prioritizing activities
- Understanding of Health and Safety
