Finance Manager

Job Purpose:

• Direct and oversee the Finance department by planning, establishing and leading the implementation of the Finance operations within Bingo to ensure the accuracy of the financial analysis, information, and reports provided to the General Manager to support the achievement of Bingo’s strategic objectives. Additionally, confirming compliance with the accounting standards and tax laws.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of Bingo’s overall business strategy and ensuring its inclusion of the financial perspective.
• Oversee the preparation, monitoring, and control of the annual budget ensuring that actual deviations are identified and proper recommendations for rectification are provided.
• Oversee and direct accounting activities including general ledger, receivables, payables, assets, and inventory making sure that proper controls are incorporated and implemented, and that accounting information is accurately captured, classified, and recorded.
• Direct and lead the treasury function ensuring the efficient management of cash flows and forecasts, funding, investment opportunities, and relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
• Direct the preparation of periodic financial reports that comply with accounting regulations and standards.
• Direct the analysis and reporting of financial information that provides the Managing Director with financial performance and intelligent reporting that supports decision making.
• Direct and lead the implementation of the Finance and Accounting management information system that establishes a strong set of financial analyses, reports, and performance indicators that support management in decision making.
• Provide leadership for the effective achievement of the Finance department’s objectives - setting individual objectives for direct reports, provision of guidance, support, and provision of informal feedback - in order to maximize individual and departmental performance.
• Liaise with Human Capital to recruit, develop and manage the appraisal of Finance employees to ensure that the department has the necessary expertise base, skills, and competencies and that staff are optimally motivated and enabled to realize their potential and contribution.
• Participation in developing finance policies.
• Help maintain the Finance policies, procedures, standards, and forms that govern how work is carried out within the Finance department and relationships with other departments to achieve efficient workflows within the department.
• Keep informed of new processes, standards, and systems for Finance in order to identify those that have the potential to enhance or replace those existing and liaise with relevant parties towards their implementation.
• Sponsor and support the process of change within the organization and manage its implementation within the Finance department ensuring a smooth transition towards the realization of any new organizational initiatives.
