Senior Manager – Maintenance and Strategic Planning

JOB ROLE 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager- Maintenance and Strategic Planning who will be responsible for leading the longer term and strategic planning functions within Riyadh Air. The Senior Manager- Maintenance and Strategic Planning oversees the light maintenance planning, base planning, strategic planning, configuration control and 3rd party contracts/support teams to ensure a safe, compliant, sustainable and an operationally world class airline. He/she will require all new implemented processes to be in line with Riyadh Air’s overarching strategy, mission and vision of becoming a pioneer in the aviation eco-system by leveraging latest technology trends and innovation strategies available, as well as demonstrated best practices to achieve operational excellence.

GENERAL ACTIVITIES

• Responsible for ensuring efficient and effective maintenance planning, maximum aircraft availability, maintenance cost optimisation in support of the safe and compliant deployment of the fleet
• Establish, maintain and control safety and airworthiness standards for the Company fleet to best practice standards and in conformance with General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) requirements
• Responsible for effective and compliant monitoring of the long ground time maintenance events to ensure only airworthy aircraft are released and scheduled for operations
• Implement best in class planning philosophy to ensure aircraft ground times are minimised and able to be efficiently completed with minimal overrun risk
• Develop, implement and maintain a robust light maintenance planning process with effective communication between relevant stakeholder groups including Operation Control Centre, Maintenance Control Centre, Line and Light Maintenance.
• Ensure Out of Phase tasks (OOP), special visits and long term defects are efficiently planned and matched to available down time to ensure continuous low risk operations occur
• Support the development and implementation of an effective strategic planning policy matched to fleet acquisition and disposal timeframes ensuring major component overhaul is appropriately managed and cost effective
• Develop, implement and maintain a robust long term planning and heavy maintenance process with effective communication between relevant stakeholder groups including external Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) support functions
• Develop, implement and maintain a digital and paperless production planning environment with optimised staff allocation, spares, tools and task utilisation
• Establish goals and objectives for the Maintenance and strategic Planning team that aim to exceed the Riyadh Air business plan and KPI requirements
• Responsible to ensure adequate department staffing is in place and in line with the fast growth business plan to meet the operational needs of the department

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS 

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 10 years experience in an aviation maintenance related role
• Significant experience in Maintenance Planning, preferably with 5+ years on Boeing widebody aircraft

• Has experience in managing a planning department in aviation operations

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering or other relevant field.
