Job Description

  • Manage the impressions of all patients by ensuring that all tasks are performed to the highest standards.
    Evaluate levels of patients and consultant satisfaction and monitor trends, with a focus on continuous improvement 
  • Develop departmental standards, policies, and strategies to improve service.
  • Implement these standards and ensure they are adhered to by all members of the hospital. 
    Plans the operating schedule for the OPD clinics (working hours/specialty/physician) and related slotting and housing, OPD closure concerning OR time/specialty & /physician, and makes sure all physicians have met their agreed OPD working hours.
    Monitors closely Doctors’ performance, ensures ongoing feedback, and takes needed corrective actions to improve performance resulting in improving OPD outcomes.
    Manages day-to-day operations in OPD ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of OPD processes and makes interventions when needed to adjust the process and ensure a smooth flow of operations.
    Works closely with physicians to improve documentation in aspects of compliance and quality of documentation.
    Manages the OPD staff, organizing staffing schedules to meet the needs of the OPD service, monitoring their performance for periodic assessment, and reporting to the Patient Services Manager.
    Handles investigate and resolve patients’ complaints ensuring patients’ satisfaction.
    Puts forwards to OPD Operational Manager, valuable suggestions and insights on specialties as per operations monitoring and specialties performance analysis.
    Holds meeting with the department staff to ensure that they all work together to coordinate the provision of service.
    Evaluating the performance of the department staff and putting recommendations.
    Provides data and information on the quality of its services to stakeholders.
    Participates in developing and implementing a hospital-wide quality improvement and patient safety program.
    Ensures effective communication throughout the hospital
    Pays attention to the accuracy and timeliness of information shared and communicated throughout the hospital.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • BSc. Medicine, Pharmacy, or Dentistry is a must
  • A hospital management Diploma and/or MBA is preferred.
  • Five to Ten years of experience in a hospital and at least two years of experience in a management position
