Job Description
- Provision of the advice and guidance on HSE standards and legislations.
- Promoting a positive HSE culture.
- Advising management on accident prevention.
- Overseeing the development of adequate risk assessments.
- Identifying training needs and keep training records.
- Monitoring health and safety performance
- Determine the cause of any accident (or dangerous occurrence), and recommend means of preventing recurrence of such an incident.
- Supervise the recording and analysis of information on injuries, damage and production loss. Assess accident trends and review overall safety performance.
- Follow and become familiar with company HSE Policies.
- Inspect the work site daily to report and correct unsafe methods and conditions
- Keep a permanent record of all environmental incidents, injuries, fires, sever car accidents and property damage which have occurred at the site.
- Keep a record of every weekly safety meeting on site complete with subject discussed and a list of attendees.
- Attend job progress meetings where safety is an item on the agenda. Report on job safety performance.
- Keep record for environmental aspects, and actively participates in environmental impact assessments
HSE Officer / Supervisor:
- Advise management on the following:
- Ways to prevent injury to personnel, damage to plant and/or equipment and fires.
- Ways to improve existing work methods.
- Potential hazards on site before work starts and on the safety organization and fire precautions required.
- Changes in safety requirements.
- Carry out site surveys to see that only safe work methods are in operation, that health and safety requirements are being observed, and welfare and first aid facilities are adequate and properly maintained.
- Keep up-to-date with recommended codes of practice and safety literature. Circulate information applicable to each level of employees.
- Stop any unsafe acts and report at his / her earliest convenient.
- Set a personal example.
- Oversee waste management plan, waste tracking and wastes safe disposal.
