Job Description
- Effective management of the body shop function, meeting and exceeding target KPIs
- Participate customer complaints by ensuring that the customer’s problems have been solved and that customer inconveniences complaints and misunderstandings are dealt with fairly and quickly.
- Maximize the use of all available resources to ensure the department is run in the most effective manner.
- Supervise the body shop manpower and facilities to assure that they follow the proper repair order flow to satisfy customer, technicians, parts department and business office and deliver a positive customer experience.
- Make every reasonable effort to ensure that vehicle repair is a pleasant customer experience by training and motivating B&P employees.
- Maintain a follow-up system to monitor customer feedback.
- Determine staffing requirements and participate in the evaluation and hiring process
- Identify training needs for Body shop Employees.
- Maintain daily sales and production records as prescribed by dealership management.
- Ensure that all necessary B&P shop equipment is in proper and safe working condition.
- Obtain the special tools and equipment necessary to perform repairs according to the manufacturer recommendations
- Review on product changes, new products and technical bulletins from the manufacture and distribute them to the appropriate team members.
- Create and control budgets for personnel and other expenses over which control has been delegated.
- Ensure that the dealership receives full value for outside services and materials purchased.
- Know and understand the manufacturers and dealership’s warranty policies and procedures.
- Report to management any circumstances that compromise the integrity, security or financial position of the dealership.
- Schedule preventive maintenance of shop equipment.
- Organize and maintain proper use of the B&P department’s designated parking areas.
- Analyses and eliminate practices that waste supplies, utilities, space and time.
Job Requirements
- B sc. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5+ Years’ experience in the automotive industry/parts.
- 5 to 7 years in service operation in a reputable dealership of which 3 years should be in a Managerial capacity.
