Job Description
- We are looking for a PHP developer who is dedicated to his craft, writes code that is proud of and can hit the ground running.
- We need you to write beautiful, fast PHP to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way that improves the code-base of our products in meaningful ways.
- Write “clean”, well designed code
- Produce detailed specifications
- Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Follow industry best practices
- Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary
- Apply security best practices and measures for written code
- Provide detailed documentation for the developed software
- Ability to integrate design elements including HTML5, CSS, boot strap and similar UI components
- Mobile application development capabilities is a plus (Android, IOS)
Job Requirements
- PHP5 - Candidate should be a top-notch PHP5 developer, familiar with the latest features in PHP 5.2.X and 5.3.X.
- MySQL - Modern database development expertise, words like 'trigger' and 'view' should be part of your vocabulary.
- XHTML/CSS/Javascript/AJAX - Expert level Javascript/ XHTML/CSS development will be necessary. jQuery experience preferred.
- Object Oriented Development / CS Background - Ideal candidates should understand object oriented development, and apply OO concepts to everything they do. Formal CS background or experience preferred.
- Proven software development experience in PHP, 3 years or above.
- Understanding of open source projects like WordPress Joomla, Drupal, Wikis, osCommerce, etc
- Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX etc
- Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web services
- Experience in common third-party APIs (Google, Facebook, PayPal, Ebay etc)
- Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Self-Starter - Looking for candidates who can jump in quickly without a lot of direction.
- Web Services - Experience building modern web services
- Social App Development - Experience in building social sites or apps (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Working with cloud computing is a plus(Amazon cloud, Azure, Google)
