Job Description
We are recruiting a GIS Analyst to support a portfolio of urban redevelopment and policy projects. The analyst will:
- Lead the production and analysis of GIS mapping of urban area.
- Analyze data to identify spatial relationships.
- Display results of analysis using maps, graphs, and tabular data.
- Maintain GIS databases, incorporate geographic data from diverse sources (including field readings), and establish and maintain cloud-based GIS data storage.
Job Requirements
- Required Skills: Advanced experience with ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS Online. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, and strong proficiency in designing and making presentations and written reportage on results of analyses; ability to proof and edit documents in English.
- Desirable Skills: Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Proficiency with Python and ArcGIS JavaScript API.
- Desirable Experience: 2-3 years experience in applied GIS analysis and development.
- Desirable Qualifications: Advanced undergraduate or graduate degrees in engineering or computer science preferred. Major coursework in city and regional planning, geography, mechanical engineering, and/or transport engineering will be helpful. ESRI certification will be a strong asset.
- Special consideration will be given to GIS analysts with experience in GIS-base web, mobile, and/or desktop app development, including Python scripting and the ArcGIS JavaScript API.
