System Engineer

Job Brief

• We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to help design, install, configure, and maintain  network infrastructure, servers, systems, and services in a diverse server environment.
• Working with customers in identifying their business and technical requirements, and designing and/or implementing optimal technical solutions for them

Responsibilities

• Setup, install and maintain server hardware and operating systems for new projects and hardware.
• Demonstrated and strong knowledge with server operating systems including Windows Server and VMWare. MCSE/MCSA, VCP-DCV and ITIL Certifications strongly desired.
• Configure and manage Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS infrastructures.
• Knowledgeable in server end SAN/NAS configuration and troubleshooting
• Understanding of cloud technologies Azure , AWS , Office356 and extensive Microsoft SQL Server
• Ability to work independently or in cross-functional teams at high level.
• Strong knowledge of industry security best practices as it relates to systems engineering.
• Strong understanding of data center operations to include power, HVAC, rack configuration, cable management, environmental management and capacity planning. Participate in on-call off-hours support rotation. 24/7 support of servers in on-campus data centers.
• Design and develop architecture for MS Exchange, Active Directory and other Microsoft centric technologies. Assist with future technical planning and ability to lead implementations of enterprise wide technologies.
• Architect, design, and develop enterprise strategies for server technology, configuration management, and rapid deployment of physical and host operating systems on physical and virtual hosts such as VMWare, stand alone and blade technologies. Knowledge HP, Dell and Cisco Blades a plus.
• Ability to identify hardware and software related failures quickly and perform root cause analysis to resolution; ability to triage and resolve system configuration issues; ability to function independently and work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Have good experience on VMware products. With hands on experience on Migrating Physical Servers to Virtual Server.
• Knowledge in backup technologies is a plus, Able to perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
