Job Description
- Planning best allocation and utilization of space for new buildings, or re-organizing current premises;
- Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
- Active participation in budgetary, estimation and costing of new engineering projects.
- Monitor and analyze utilities consumption (Electricity, Water etc.)
- Management of Keys and locks of Campus buildings.
- Oversees, directs, and manages the master planning, design, and construction for the new University campus.
- Directs and inspects for day to day operational functions related to facilities maintenance activities for all campus buildings, dormitories and staff accommodation affiliated with University.
- Serves as an advisor to the executive and management in facility and strategic planning projects and initiatives.
- Chair for construction meetings for the campus projects.
- Performs periodic reviews of the preventive maintenance program and recommends enhancements where indicated.
- Conducts periodic surveys of critical structures and installations to identify abnormal conditions, settlement, material deterioration etc. and recommends remedial actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice Chancellor.
- Any other tasks assigned by line manager.
Job Requirements
Qualification
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
- Master Degree will be an advantage.
Experience
- At least 10 years’ of relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings and structures or facilities management, minimum 4 years of which in a supervisory position.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Ability to supervise and train the subordinates.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Possess leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Fluent in English and Arabic.
