Job Description
- Managing, overseeing, processing (as appropriate), and acting as a backup for processing all of the following transactions: payroll, accounts payable, revenue and expense, fixed assets, cash, bank reconciliations, and allocations.
- Preparing and submitting the monthly financial reports (i.e. P&L, analysis of actual vs. budget, bank reconciliation and Balance Sheet reconciliation, and all required management reports) to top management.
- Reporting to management and stakeholders, and providing advice on how the company and future business decisions might be impacted.
- Analyzing costs, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
- Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information.
- Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses, etc.
- Developing strategies that work to minimize financial risk.
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Working closely with the accounting staff to coordinate efforts to provide needed information for the auditors.
- Responsible for contacting freight forwarder to know the status of shipments and take care of any payments needed.
- Dealing with the company's customs broker and bank to ensure all paperwork required for customs have been fulfilled.
- Maintaining good corporate relations with customers, vendors, banking institutions, auditors, owner companies and other affiliates.
- Updating contracts with the company’s members and communicates changes to members accounting staff.
- Conferring with upper management about budgeting and reviewing strategies to meet overall goals and objectives.
- Maintaining an orderly accounting filing system.
- Suggesting improvements in processes to increase organizational effectiveness.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience is required.
- CPA or CMA is preferred.
- Solid experience in coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
Skills:
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Must have managerial skills and be able to function in a supervisory role.
- Must be able to prioritize work to meet scheduled deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
- Strategic thinker who possesses an analytical mind.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
