Success in this role means completing merchant onboarding accurately and efficiently, ensuring all data is correctly captured and systems are properly set up.
A successful Merchant Coding Specialist builds strong relationships with merchants, communicates clearly, resolves issues proactively, and collaborates seamlessly with internal teams to deliver a smooth, timely onboarding experience while upholding data privacy standards.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 6+ months of experience in Merchant Onboarding, or similar role in operations.
• Basic understanding of merchant systems and onboarding processes.
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain simple technical steps clearly to merchants.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately collect and enter merchant data.
• Proactive attitude toward identifying and resolving common onboarding or setup issues.
• Capable of managing multiple onboarding appointments and following up as needed.
• Committed to maintaining merchant data privacy and following security protocols.
• Able to collaborate effectively with Sales, Operations, and Support teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
