Job Description

Director of Student Affairs

The University of Hertfordshire hosted by Global Academic Foundation (UH-GAF) based in the New Administrative Capital, Cairo operates under the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education in compliance with the International Branch Campus Law No. 162 of 2018 and provides degrees validated by the University of Hertfordshire in Egypt.  The University currently offers thirteen specialist degree programmes in addition to an International Foundation programme.

Main purpose of the role

  • The Director of Student Affairs will lead on all aspects of student administration including:
  • Student registration, student records, timetabling, liaison with the University of Hertfordshire in the UK relating to student affairs
  • Provision of analytical data relating to students registration status and student academic performance/progression
  • Coordination with the student recruitment office as part of the enrollment processes
  • Responsibility for military and visa services, study abroad at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, liaison with Deans of Schools and programme leads relating to students studying at UH-GAF. 
  • The successful candidate will manage a team of individuals who carry out the day-to-day work relating to the aforementioned areas.

Job Requirements

Skill and experience required:  

  • High level knowledge of University student administration processes is essential preferably with knowledge of UK HE sector and systems. 
  • Extensive knowledge of student electronic record systems is also required. 

The candidate will also possess: 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and plan effectively across competing priorities; 
  • Excellent attention to detail in generating reports; 
  • Ability to manage a team to provide professional support to academics, senior management and provide effective linkage with colleagues at UH in the UK.  
  • The candidate is likely to have substantial experience in similar roles in the HE sector either in Egypt or internationally and a proven ability to create and lead a large team to ensure effective and efficient support is provided for all key stakeholders.
  • Qualifications required: A Masters degree is essential and possession of a PhD is desirable.
