Job Description
- Responsible for commodity purchases to support all the company business requirements;
- Interact with internal and external suppliers and customers;
- Develop, implement and manage cost savings ideas;
- Develop and maintain positive supplier relationships;
- Manage supplier base while proactively seeking and developing new suppliers that strategically fit within Midea annual Operating Plan;
- Direct staff in the process daily requisitions, expedite deliveries, resolve quality issues and adjust supply chain as required;
- Conduct physical inventories quarterly or as required;
- Work closely with Product Design to ensure timely, cost effective solutions to support the new products and improvements;
- Set standard costs and lead times for all raw material commodities;
- Focus on supplier performance and process improvements to impact the production cost drivers, processes, supply chain issues;
- Survey the marketplace to identify the best source to fit Midea requirements.
- Standardization and continuity of quality and supply are paramount for the successful operation of the manufacturing process;
- Allocate resources as required to solicit quotations from qualified suppliers for new and existing materials;
- Support Purchasing’s goal to build strategic supplier partnerships that will guarantee continuous supply in any market condition and develop process improvements;
- Strong problem solving skills, taking the initiative to improve the business, and excellent leadership skills within the Dept. in working with internal customers and external suppliers, fosters;
- Strong partnership that ensures successful continuation and growth of Midea product lines;
- Approximately 40% travel to supplier visitations.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Local purchasing or related field in multinational, manufacturing companies (Household appliances industries).
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, MS Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Results oriented with ability to function in a team environment;
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects while effectively meeting deadlines
- Arabic (Local language) spoken: high written: high;
- English spoken: Fluent written: excellent.
