Job Description

Job Summary 

The Modern Trade Sales Supervisor will leverage on his own background and expertise to create value for Mediterraneo & Key Accounts in Cairo and Giza through proper planning and coordination of the implementation of all business initiatives, generating volume growth, turn over, numeric & weighted distribution, improved merchandising, and cost optimization. 

Main Responsibilities / Tasks 

  • Direct Sales to a portfolio of Modern Trade customers.
  • Drive sales, presence, and visibility of Mediterraneo products (depleting stock from Mediterraneo’s main Distributor in Cairo and Giza across a grouping of modern trade accounts through effective sales execution of marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Ensure productive sales calls and proper payment management.
  • Design and implement a sales strategy.
  • Negotiate annual cooperation agreements (promotions, leaflets, displays, listing…).
  • Support key accounts in managing their stocks to optimize supply conditions.
  • Follow up demand forecast/orders plan.
  • Track in-store promo effectiveness.
  • Identify key issues, trends, and opportunities to increase market share and creatively help in growing the business. 
  • Develop the range and portfolio strategy by store type working closely with the Sales Manager.
  • Ensure optimal distribution and merchandising.
  • Work with the Trade Marketing team to design tailored promotions and activations based on shopper profiling and Key Account strategy and objectives.
  • Hold periodic meetings with the distributor sales & merchandising team (training, coaching…).
  • Update price value chain Mediterraneo vs. competition  (quarterly).
  • Monitor, analyze, and share the main competitors’ strategies, activities, and competitive advantages in the modern retail environment.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Work experience from 7– 10 years
  • At least 3 years in Modern Trade / Key Account sales management roles (at brand, distributor, and/or retailer level) in food production/FMCG or relevant industry is a must.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, especially Power-Point & Excel.

Professional skills: 

  • Business and results oriented with proven negotiation skills.
  • Able to identify new sales opportunities (new customers, new segments).
  • Hard working, rigorous, well organized and able to work autonomously.
  • Analytic, accurate, and quick interpretation of figures.

Personal skills: 

  • A self-starter, working under their own initiative... and a completer/finisher.
  • Ability to analyze and provide clear recommendations.
  • Good communication skills (writing & verbal).
  • Build strong relationships with both key external and internal customers.
  • Energy and passion for achievement of own commitments and delivering company objectives.
  • Able to influence and persuade others to take a specific course of action.
  • Special talent at managing & motivating multi-cultural sales teams.
