Job Description

Length of Assignment: 12 months

Contribute to the project planning and integrated budget definition & review 

  • Participate to the planning process and to its regular review
  • Produce monthly work plan based on project planning and report achievements
  • Collect data for documenting indicators
  • Actively participate to project team meetings
  • Report to the Project Manager
  • Participate to the project monitoring (mid-ter review…)

Contribute to the monitoring of the project partners for the activities he/she is in charge of

  • Support the MSWG to mobilize local resources and to facilitate the creation of partnerships between local entrepreneurs and CSOs supporting vulnerable HHs, with a focus on facilitating a partnership with El-Ber for the support to HHs living with disabilities
  • Support the MSWG to manage two sub-grant mechanisms to provide financial support to the stimulation of local production initiatives (including consultancies to improve product design, quality and access to markets) and to support the inclusion of vulnerable HHs with disabilities
  • Analyze vulnerability factors and disability related barriers/facilitators to livelihoods faced by identified HHs
  • Contribute to the identification of the tools needed for implementing the project activities and to their development
  • After using the tool and based on the feedback from partner and beneficiaries, proceed to tools adjustment
  • Mobilize authorities/ external stakeholders for facilitating project implementation and inform them regularly about the progress made and the challenges faced
  • Develop activity sheets including budget for activities

Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools for the launch of small grants and their implementation

  • In close collaboration with project manager, the Project officer is responsible for the process of launching the grants up to the closure phase 
  • The Project Officer is responsible for monitoring overall progress and will act as the grantees’ primary point of contact during the performance of a grant.
  • Summarize and report the results of the reviews and site visits in the field.
  • Provide supervision of Grant implementation at the filed level (training, meeting, overseeing implementation plans, visit the grantee operations as required, etc.).
  • Support the project in the review of liquidation documentation, reports, and other deliverables provided by the grantee
  • Give appropriate recommendations to grantees in areas that need correction or improvement in their systems and procedures on the field level.
  • Support in the checking of the grants’ financial tracking systems and share relevant information with concerned parties as appropriate
  • Set-up proper files for each grant and make sure all the processes are well documented as per the SOP of the activity
  • Provide weekly updates and reports on grant activities in the field to project manager.
    Develop HHs’ action plans in close collaboration with EL Ber
  • Accompany HHs in the implementation of their action plan: business coaching, basic life skills training, referral/support to access livelihoods services
  • support access of targeted HHs to the sub-grant mechanisms managed by the MSWG and to local trainers / mentors
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer support and formal collaboration between targeted HHs
  • Liaise with logistics and finance department as per the procedures in place to undertake purchase & expenditures as required for activities implementation 
  • Participate to the development of case studies

 

Contribute to project lesson learnt and promotion at national & international level

  • Collect data as per the framework defined
  • Input in the identification and analysis of the project good practice
  • Participate to the organization of dissemination workshop

Job Requirements

Education

Educational background required

  • University Degree in development, management or business administration or social studies or/and equivalent working experience

 Work Experience

  • Minimum 3 years practical experience in the field of expertise of the project including at least two years in emergency and livelihood projects with vulnerable groups
  • Minimum 3 years experience in facilitating training and/or awareness raising sessions
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with local/community livelihood services providers and entrepreneurs.

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Special ease at collaborative work, participatory approach
  • Excellent team worker and very positive working relations
  • Positive and constructive personality, solution-oriented and with a high level of professional maturity
  • Solid IT skills including knowledge of office software.

Languages

  • Very good knowledge (written and spoken) of English.
