Job Description
Coordinates all training programs in order to meet training mission of Pharmaceutical Care Division. Develops and coordinates the training program for the pharmacists under Saudi Career Development Program (SCDP), undergraduate pharmacy trainees, and pharmacists from other hospitals involved in health outreach program, participates in the development and the coordination of residency program under Saudi Commission For Health Specialties (SCFHS), and Arranges, coordinates the department continuing education activates, ensures that all these activitesare compliant and meet the accrediation requirments by both Accrediation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and (SCFHS).
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Develops, coordinates and administers the training program for pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians under (SCDP). Monitors and evaluates the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians’ performance, updates the training manual and evaluates periodically.
2. Participates in coordinating and developing the Residency Program under the auspices of SCFHS. Participates in the development of the preceptors and assists in updating the training manual periodically. Ensures all compliance and accreditation requirements for this programs are met. Participates in preparing the review reports required by ASHP, when needed.
3. Coordinates the training program for undergraduate pharmacy students from universities all over the Kingdom. Works closely with the universities’ coordinators to monitor the student’s performance, and to maintain compliance with the requirements established by the concern universities.
4. Coordinates the training program for pharmacists from other hospitals involved in health outreach program in the Kingdom, and observes their performances.
5. Participates in the accreditation process of new residency programs.
6. Continuously follows-up with managers and senior pharmacists in the departmentto ensure the effectiveness and quality of the training programs,
7. Maintains accurate schedule of all trainees and assures timely distribution.
8. Coordinates the intradepartmental continuing education activities and department grand rounds. Ensures that these activates are compliant and meet the accreditation requirements by both (ACPE) and (SCFHS).
9. Participates in preparing the review reports required by (ACPE), when needed.
10. Participates in organizing the departmental symposia and conferences. Ensures that these activates are compliant and meet the accreditation requirements by both (ACPE) and (SCFHS).
11. Participates in the interview and recruitment of candidates for (SCDP).
12. Participates in the assigned projects related to medication safety, quality and performance improvement.
13. Engages in Joint Commissions International Pharmacy Committee (JCIA).
14. Participates in self & others' education, training and development, as applicable.
15. Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.
Education
Master’s, Pharm.D or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy form an accredited College of Pharmacy is required.
Experience Required
Grade 09: Two (2) years with Master’s Degree, or four (4) years with Pharm.D or Bachelor’s Degree of related Pharmacy experience as a pharmacist I is required.
Grade 10: Four (4) years with Master’s Degree, or Six (6) years with Pharm.D or Bachelor’s Degree of related Pharmacy experience as a pharmacist I including two (2) years inClinical pharmacy, research, academic or quality is required.
