Job Description
Our company is seeking to hire a skilled Geographic Information System (GIS), Analyst, to work on our existing projects. Job duties mainly center around performs complex professional work, which includes providing technical leadership on projects in a preliminary investigation, requirements analysis, design, configuration, verification, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and review of GIS applications.
Job Type :
Full Time, Project Base 1.5 Years and can be extended.
Career Level : Senior.
Education :Bachelor's Degree in in Geography or Information Systems or equivalent.
An equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience.
Salary : Negotiable based on the selected candidate’s knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs requirements analysis, design, configuration, verification, documentation, implementation, maintenance, and review of off-the-self software and custom software components.
- Considers the business implications of applying Geographic Information Systems to clients’ current business environment and takes action.
- Formulates and defines the scope and objectives of business systems through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.
- Develops or modifies information systems requirements as they relate to GIS.
- Provides GIS application product escalation support and thought leadership for product versioning plans and strategies, as assigned.
- Performs complex analysis and administration, using ESRI ArcGIS, and ArcSDE.
- Articulates application and integration strategy, architecture point of view, and thought leadership for business solutions as they relate to GIS.
- Assists in the design and maintenance of data systems to interface with GIS and Asset Management systems.
- Participates in departmental and cross-departmental committees working on data and mapping systems for the GIS department.
- Responsible for assisting in planning and organizing work assignments of junior staff.
- Defines large-scale GIS application design and architecture activities.
- Responds to inquiries and requests for information from staff, consultants, and the public.
- Applies specialized knowledge of automated data processing functions to increase efficiencies.
- Initiates and works on pilot projects and evaluates new software and develops standards.
- Performs data modeling.
- Leases with other administrations, external agencies, and departments in the exchange of spatial, attribute, and graphic data.
- Assists in the budgeting process for the new projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.

- Needed Experience : 8 + Years, including at least 4 years at the GIS Analyst level.
- Exhibits a general understanding of overall strategic direction for the functional area within the business unit.
- Demonstrates a professional work ethic.
- Exercises sound judgment in undertaking independent research, survey, and data management activities.
- Proactively seeks out and investigates new technology.
- Proven capability of imaginative abstract reasoning.
- Proven ability to provide training, guidance, and support to other staff and GIS users.
- Demonstrates advanced skills and knowledge in a full range of specialized programming tools and languages including but not limited to scripts, menus, and routines of varying complexity.
- Proven advanced skills in the identification of software and hardware problems.
- Proven ability in testing and documenting system changes, procedures, and issues.
- Extensive experience in advanced computer mapping using ArcGIS, ArcSDE, and Geodatabases plus a working knowledge of ArcIMS, database design, data modeling, and underlying technology required to support these.
- Requires self-motivation, ability to work independently and efficiently, and demonstrated service orientation.
