Job Description
- Supervision and Management:
- Supervise and guide the purchasing team, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Procurement Activities:
- Oversee the sourcing and procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse and other departments to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms and quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
- Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Develop and manage the purchasing department’s budget.
- Monitor and analyze purchasing costs to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, costs, and performance metrics.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, production, quality control) to align procurement activities with overall business goals.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and projects as needed.
Job Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Supervisor or in a similar role, typically 3-5 years.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management, and supplier relationship management
