Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Finance Manager oversees the financial activities of the university, forecasts financial results, manages budgets and conduct risk management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Managing the financial reporting for the university. This includes monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, 5 years financial plans and all statutory financial reporting
- Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the Senior Management to make critical business decisions.
- Presentation of financial results and insights to the Board
- Playing a key role in the formulation of the business's strategy
- Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the university
- Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the university and ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls
- Managing and overseeing the university’s financial systems
- Investment appraisal and analysis
- Training, mentoring and development of staff
- Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Financial and Management Accounting functions.
- Risk Management to ensure the university has a solid risk framework in place
- Managing and tracking budget and accounting information including billing, collections, and tax information
- Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
- Developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
Job Requirements
Education:
- BSc in Accounting and finance, master’s degree, CMA, CFA is preferred
Years of Experience:
- 12 to 15 years of experience in the same field with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial level
- Previous experience in the Educational field.
