Job Description
- Manages logistics team
- Interacts with local logistics companies (intermodal, shipping line, ports…etc.) locally
- Ensures movement of products from sites / locations to final destination
- Maintains spend under management pertaining to trucking / logistics
- Evaluates suppliers and recommend action plan
- Maintain a mitigation or continuity plan against disruption in logistics
- Coordinates with the global logistics team
- Reports to Globally Allocation Planning Lead
- Cascades monthly and weekly plans in alignment with Global Allocation Planning Lead in accordance to the production and S&OP teams and escalates any issues to the Globally Allocation Planning Lead
- Communicates the contract rates to the BU team & reports back any local rates insights
- To support on ground logistics projects & Business Development
- Initial Scope for Egypt with potential extension to Sudan, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and other Africa countries.
Job Requirements
- Handled logistics for an FMCG organization / Pharmaceutical
- Or worked in 3PL / sea-freight company
- Used to large volume / moving containers / bulk vessels from Egypt to Overseas
- Knowledge of intermodal solutions (e.g. trucking / railways) business from remote areas to sea ports
- Knowledge of documentation / clearance out of Egypt
- Ability to design / optimize the right routes for proper efficiency
- Experience in warehousing
- Preferably French speaker
