The position is 100% located in Aswan. 

It is open for Egyptians, preferably people from Aswan.

Background:

Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF), an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), was established in 1991, is currently implementing a long-term development programme in Aswan Governorate.  The programme focuses on Early Childhood Development (ECD), Civil Society Capacity Building (CSCB), Agriculture and Food Security  (AFS), and Aswan Skills Development Programme (ASDP).

The Civil Society Capacity Building Programme (CSCB) is currently operating in Aswan a four years project entitled "Improving Local Development Dynamics (ILDD)" funded by the European Commission. The overall objective of the project is to strengthen Civil Society Organisations and Local Authorities, and enhance their role and effectiveness to deliver inclusively and gender responsive development services in villages of four districts of Aswan Governorate: Kom Ombo, Daraw, Aswan and Edfu.

Position Objective:

The Field Officer (FO) will be responsible, together with the Programme Officer (PO), for working directly with the CSOs, providing technical support, following up on community philanthropic projects, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of all the project's activities and collecting data for specific indicators and outcomes.  The FO will also liaise with private sector actors, as well as other organizations working towards poverty elimination and resource mobilization.

Main Responsibilities:
 
1. The FO will assist the PO in the following activities:

  • Organizing project orientation for different stakeholders, and participatory community planning.
  • Conducting Social Innovation Lab (SIL) on districts level to support multi-stakeholders' groups to address complex social problems.
  • Gathering data for specific indicators.
  • Identifying and addressing community issues, in collaboration with the local community leaders and other community stakeholders.
  • During the district level platforms meetings.

2. Assess the CSOs institutional capacity and identify performance gaps by applying the Organisation Capacity Building (OCA) and Organisation Performance Index (OPI).

3. Conduct field visits to CSOs to follow up on the activities and funded projects.

4. Network with other key partners: NGOs, CSOs, government departments, private sector, and key community members at village level to design and implement programme activities.

5. Attend programme development, planning, and review meetings that are scheduled with staff.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Skills and Experience:

  • From 3 to 5 years of experience in the field of development.
  • Practical experience in working with civil society organizations.
  • Availability to work outside of regular business hours.
  • Very good knowledge of English and Arabic Languages.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently, or as a part of a team.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information.
