Job Description

Position Summary:

Helping engineering teams deliver projects on schedule. Develop strategies, determine material and labor costs, monitor crew performance, ensure health and safety regulations are obeyed, and that communications channels are open. Planning Engineers also interpret data, compile reports, and deliver presentations when required.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Understanding project specifications and developing time schedules and budgets that meet them.
  • Negotiating with vendors and contractors to secure the best prices.
  • Observing existing processes, analyzing staff performance, and addressing  deficiencies accordingly.
  • Monitoring and tracking project progress, and writing up reports.
  • Attending and scheduling meetings as required.
  • Delegating tasks and ensuring workers receive feedback.
  • Understanding and meeting all contract requirements.
  • Communicating with managers, supervisors, and the rest of the team.
  • Analyzing technical drawings and providing material and cost estimates.
  • Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budgets.
  • Develop contract proposals to support organizational goals
  • Review contract estimates, including proposed materials, production costs, etc. and determine whether they seem reasonable and accurate
  • Ensure that all records are accurate and up to date
  • Write contract letters and other communications and notices
  • Negotiate and approve contract terms while ensuring that projects remain within the established budget
  • Attend meetings to assess progress on projects which are in motion, and take detailed notes to share with stakeholders
  • Create regular status reports regarding progress on projects
  • Analyze contracts to ensure they comply with state and federal laws and regulation.

Job Requirements

Requirements : 

  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering is preferable.
  • Work experience: 7-8 years in a relevant position.

Skills and knowledge:

  • Expertise in Planning & Contracts management procedures and best practices.
  • Proven work experience as a Planning & Contract Engineer in construction field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Planning and project management skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills.
  • Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines.
