Job Description

The position is based in Aswan. It is only for residents of Aswan and neighboring governorates.

Background:

  • The Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is implementing a five-year skills development programmein collaboration with Aga Khan Foundation, Global Affairs Canada, and local partners in Aswan Governorate.
  • The Aswan Skills Development Programme (ASDP) focuses on strengthening the quality and range of vocational and technical training programmes, as well as professional development programmes available to young women and men in Aswan Governorate.
  • The ASDP aims to improve the knowledge and services available to young women and men as they transition from education or under/unemployment into training and from training to work or entrepreneurship. ASDP will build on the success of the OHF’s Continuing Education Center (CEC) which, since its inception in 2010, has become a leader in English language and IT training in Aswan.
  • Through the programmatic activities of ASDP, OHF will enhance the employability of the people of Aswan
  • Provide support to their career progression. In addition to TVET, management, and professional training, ASDP provides career counselling and job placement services, institutional capacity building and support the research and policy agenda in the sector.
  • OHF is seeking top-level candidates excited about the opportunity to shape the future of Upper Egypt’s technical vocational and professional education landscape, in collaboration with private sector, government and international partners.

Position Objectives:

  • To provide support and assistance to the Quality and Accreditation Manager in obtaining accreditation / validation of the Continuing Education Center (CEC), developing courses and training materials, providing capacity building for trainers, organizing training and ensuring the quality standards of courses are being upheld.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Mentoring trainers and delivering TOT sessions including providing the required technical assistance / support in lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Supervising the production of the Blended Learning courses in its different stages.
  • Providing the required technical assistance and support in the development of training session plans.
  • Reviewing relevant curricula and providing the required technical assistance and support in adapting courses for specific audience (looking for open sources on-line).
  • Working with trainers in developing e-learning courses and assisting the different components in the production process.
  • Assisting the accreditation / validation process of the CEC from different entities (e.g. ISO, BUE, AmCham)
  • Assisting in ensuring quality in Work Integrated Learning(WIL) Placement, if any.
  • Conducting workplace visits and report on WIL assignments, when needed.
  • Organizing and participating in Industry Advisory Group (IAG) meetings and training of Industry Advisory Committee’s Members.
  • Working with different technical partners in the development of workshops for the delivery of programmes developed by ASDP.
  • Enforcing quality control within all programmes.
  • Carrying out activities such as observation of trainers and writing up observation reports.
  • Overseeing the annual training capacity and performance evaluations.
  • Other tasks/ responsibilities, as required.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Holding a BA degree in education or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in continuing education and training services.
  • Having knowledge of the latest trends in the training industry, especially those related to languages, IT, soft skills, and accounting/Finance training.
  • Proven experience in planning and evaluation, programme development, project management, and curriculum development.
  • Being independent, responsible, organized, detail-oriented, and a multi-tasker are assets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English Languages including writing and reading proficiency.
