Job Description

  • Identifying users’ needs and develop detailed specification documents with clear deliverable and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverable.
  • Design, develop, test on various browsers, implement, maintain, and support new and existing web applications/sites and databases across the organization, while ensuring the high availability levels.
  • Create variety of reports from the available databases to support the organization’s needs.
  • Conducting user-acceptance testing.
  • Conduct different systems and data integrations from various back-end services and databases.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
  • Manage NU websites contents.
  • Search engine optimization for NU Websites.
  • Create and maintain technical documentations.
  • Write and maintain detailed manuals for the operation of different types of users.
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends, and alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities.

Job Requirements

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in the relevant field in well-known and large-scale organizations that support at least 1,500 users.
  • Technical certificates are required.

Technical skills:

  • Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: .NET, HTML, XML, PHP and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
  • Strong knowledge of one or both SQL and MySQL databases, besides application frameworks.
  • Ability to create database reports.
  • Knowledge of database server administration including but not limited to users, permissions, backups, recovery, and monitoring.
  • Ability to implement browser-independent designs and cross-browser issues (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari etc.), with support for mobile and tablet devices.
  • Knowledge of web development standards, security principles, web User Interface Design (UI), Web Services (REST/SOAP), API's, session management, relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming, and best development practices.
  • Soft skills:Creative skills to identify and define user enterprise needs and turn them into workable plans and automate processes.
  • High internet searching capabilities.
  • Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with colleagues and clients either verbally or in writing.
  • Good command of English.
  • Determines when issues should be escalated to a higher level.
  • Capable of writing proposals or reports, documenting procedures, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management.
  • Work under general supervision.
  • Proactive with strong self-management skills to juggle multiple tasks and priorities within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
