Linux System Administrator

Job Summary:

• You will be responsible for administrating with other team members a bunch of Linux servers with different roles on the system.
• You need to be comfortable with Linux command line, scripting.
• You will be responsible for web servers administration (Nginx, Tomcat, Wildfly).
• You will be responisble for mysql servers administration (replication, clustring, backup).
• You will be responsible for securing the system and following up PCI DSS regulations and make sure they are implemented on the servers.
• Change implementation – system upgrades, automation (scripting)
• Problem Management – Identify service impacting trends and work with the development teams to implement long term solutions.
• Incident Mitigation – On call rotation to mitigate incident.
• Work is performed in a 24/7 operations environment. Must be available to work weekends and holidays on an on call basis.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd level support of Linux for supported services
• Resolve problems and issues occurred on the Linux servers within the times specified in the SLA
• Work through problems and issues to obtain root cause analysis
• Support planning and install of new operating system releases to maintain software currency.
• Plan and install upgrades/new software, including some local customization.
• Support planning and installation of system software patches to fix identified problems.
• Manage system & software configurations (via change control)
