Role Overview:

The Analyst, eCommerce Analytics (AMET) will drive accelerated growth within AMET eCommerce Customer Development by supporting the development of eCommerce analytics strategy, capabilities and processes required to achieve sales goals of the total channel. The incumbent will deliver action-oriented business insights to shape channel strategy across all customers inclusive of Pure Play & Omnichannel.

The Analyst, eCommerce Analytics is a reliable, trusted source of eCommerce data, analytics and insights. This person proactively provides regular and ad hoc business reporting and data validation across eCommerce KPIs, including sales, share and 6P’s: product (assortment), placement (search, taxonomy, digital shelf), promotion (online promo/sales price), pricing (MFP, subscriptions, shipping costs), purchase fulfillment (click & collect, home delivery, curbside) and persuasion (ratings, reviews). The Senior Analyst, eCommerce Analytics participates in special projects as assigned.

Main Responsibilities:

This person must be detail-oriented and influential in building stories with robust data sets. The incumbent must have a strong analytical skill set and experience working with syndicated data providers such as Nielsen and IRI. Special projects are an integral part of this role and the ideal person should be comfortable operating in a rapidly evolving cross-functional environment. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Insights & Analytics

  • Assist cross-functional team members in development, evaluation, & implementation of the eCommerce 6Ps by organizing, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from a variety of data sources, including (but not limited to) Nielsen/IRI, POS, and Shopper/Panel, Edge Digital Shelf, Edge Market Share, etc. to identify trends and provide insights-based recommendations.
  • Ensures that data is accurately formed, reported, and error-free through careful review and refinement prior to performing analysis.
  • Develops, delivers, and manages standard business reporting to customer teams and for internal requests as needed.
  • Proactively identifies areas of opportunity and/or business need and leads the analysis and delivery of insights-based recommendations

Data Maintenance

  • Performs regular ongoing item catalog maintenance on a variety of data sets including (but not limited to) Digital Shelf, Market Share, and Retailer POS such as Amazon ARA
  • Thoroughly validates new and existing data sets to ensure data accuracy and integrity are held to highest of standards
  • Supports in the evaluation of new and emerging eCommerce data and analytical capabilities

Job Requirements

  • Degree Required
  • 2+ years prior experience in consumer package goods required.
  • Prior experience in direct customer sales, business analytics, and/or customer marketing required. Must have at least one prior analyst-level role
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers up and down two or more levels, with and without direct authority, to ensure a fully-aligned customer/company business plan.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills. Strong presentation skills and ability to tailor skills and presentation style to a variety of key decision makers.
  • Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives.
  • Ability to develop and oversee the execution of project plans and to implement, execute and draw conclusions from a variety of customer, shopper and category studies.
  • Ability to identify and assess risk and prioritize competing demands.
  • Knowledge of computer technology, analytical software programs, MS Office Suite and database management, including development of queries and assessment of data to draw accurate conclusions.
  • Up to 20% travel required.
