Job Description
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure machinery and equipment operate efficiently and reliably.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or technical issues and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to improve machine performance and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Maintain an organized inventory of critical spare parts to ensure availability for immediate repairs.
- Implement efficient inventory control systems to track usage, minimize surplus, and prevent shortages.
- Forecast demand for spare parts based on maintenance schedules and historical data.
- Ensure all equipment adheres to safety standards, regulations, and industry codes, and promote a safe working environment.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance, including the use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Monitor maintenance budgets and aim to reduce operational costs through efficient use of resources, while sourcing replacement parts and services.
- Collaborate with production, operations, and engineering teams to plan maintenance schedules that minimize disruption to operations.
- Train and supervise junior maintenance staff or technicians, and ensure that they follow standard procedures and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repair services, parts procurement, or technical support when necessary.
- Identify opportunities to enhance energy efficiency and reduce waste in maintenance operations.
Job Requirements
- 2+ years of maintenance experience required.
- Engineering bachelor’s degree (Electrical)
- In-depth understanding of machinery, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems.
- Ability to quickly diagnose equipment failures and identify efficient solutions.
- Skills in planning and executing preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Proficiency in using CMMS software to track maintenance schedules, manage spare parts, and generate reports.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, and automation systems is beneficial for modern equipment management.
- Ability to manage and optimize spare parts inventories, ensuring critical components are available without overstocking.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and ability to implement safety measures for equipment and personnel.
- Ensure all equipment and maintenance practices meet industry standards and legal requirements.
- Ability to analyze equipment performance data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
- Strong critical thinking skills to make quick, informed decisions during emergencies or equipment breakdowns.
- Effective communication with cross-functional teams (production, operations, engineering) to align maintenance schedules with operational goals.
- Ability to train and supervise junior technicians, ensuring they follow best practices and safety protocols.
- Willingness and ability to stay updated on the latest technology, equipment, and maintenance techniques.
- Adaptability to handle emergency repairs, changing priorities, and evolving operational needs.
- Ability to prioritize maintenance tasks based on equipment criticality, risk, and operational needs to minimize disruptions.
