Job Description

  • We are seeking a Videographer/Editor (V/E) that will create inspiring videos for online education. The V/E works under the general direction of the Director, and is responsible for all aspects of video production including filming, editing and graphic designs, to serve client needs. 
  • You will be part of a production team that requires collaboration and a proactive work ethic, including a self-motivated drive for quality and creativity, and a passion for excellence in the video and streaming content projects. 
  • You will work closely with the team to visually explain complex data findings, including infographics, and will run point for tasks such as scouting locations, writing scripts, directing, cinematography, lighting, editing, and exporting.
  • As video has become the best way for communicating company's messages on online platforms, your position will play an important role in our company's communication strategy. 

Job Duties

  • Meets with stakeholders to determine their communication needs and creates video productions telling their stories while remaining true to the overall GEFIC brand.
  • Contributes to all facets of video production including pre-production meetings, concept development, script development, filming, production, directing, editing, and archiving.
  • Creates, develops, and guides the video concept, conducts interviews, and creates storyboards.
  • Determines suitable camera equipment, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for individual shoots.
  • Transports and sets up equipment. Operates and maintains proper levels and calibration of cameras, audio, video recorders, and other production equipment
  • Edits video and audio to ensure quality standards and compliance with the intended message to target audiences.
  • Conceptualizes and creates titles, special effects, motion graphics and animation.
  • Uploads video content on social media and websites.
  • Maintains video archiving in accordance with established guidelines and applicable record retention requirements.
  • Stays current on emerging and new digital trends, the latest in video equipment, and best practices in online education video production.
  • Represents GEFIC at meetings as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Film Studies, Cinematography, Communications, or related field.
  • At least three years of experience video production, concept development, filming, and editing.
  • Experience with digital technology and editing software (Avid, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro).
  • Experience in special effects, animation and motion graphics.
  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and video editing.
  • Experience producing video for web and social media.
  • Experience of best practices for use of video, broadcast production techniques and standards, proper file storage and archiving.
  • Experience of lighting and sound recording techniques, special effects, 3D, and compositing.
  • Experience with international development or a strong international communications background is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe collections, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, in addition to an understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

GEFIC is a startup in online education. It aims at offering tailored solutions to Universities offering online courses. Products are online courses similar to those offered on Coursera and edX, accredited, and adapted to students tastes and culture across the world. Tailored solutions range from complete handling of teaching, tutoring, interaction with students, quizzes, and exams; to basic interaction with inhouse faculty to provide digital teaching. Under the direct supervision of the CEO and the Director, the V/E will be responsible of delivering the highest quality of videos including infographics that contribute to maximizing the learning experience.
