Technical Support Specialist/ Infrastructure Administrator

The Infrastructure Administrator (IAD) is responsible for procurement, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of hardware systems. The IAD must ensure Data/software security as well as availability. 

He will be responsible for complete project lifecycle and must ensure to have a proper IT assets inventory tracking for all Emirates Auction branches, in particular: RFID Asset Tracking, Corporate Emails, Application Servers, CCTV and Telephony. 

In case of a major IT event, the IAD is responsible for provided the necessary IT support to solve the major IT event and to get the system up and running, which may require some travel.

Third Party Solutions

• Research third party solutions
• Tender for proposals
• Closing tender and selection of solution provider
• Liaison and execute project with third party provider
• Maintenance and follow-up of solution with provider.
• Manage renewals and licenses. 

Hardware

• Research hardware solutions
• Place orders and follow up on shipment & delivery
• Follow-up on payment orders and LPOs.
• Installation of respective hardware
• Maintain and test backups /alternatives
• Keep track of warranties and product life cycles
• Keep track of hardware end life
• Monitor and manage hardware health
• Pulling, installation & patching of network cables (within emirates auction or any other location required by emirates auction)

Operational

• Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
• In case of a major IT event, the IAD is responsible for provided the necessary IT support to solve the major IT event and to get the system up and running, which may require some travel.

Compliance

• Manage user accessibility and quotas
• Contribute to and maintain system standards.
• Maintain the disaster recovery plan
• Implementation of IT enterprise images for Desktops/Laptops according to procedures and policy to insure a consistent environment
