Job Description

Job Purpose Statement:

Leads the design and development of effective and robust infrastructure and architectures for a number of the Middle East and African countries ensuring compliance with company's requirements and all local, EU, global regulatory, security and technical standards. Focus typically includes compliance of end-user computers, data network and other standards such as ISO, PCCI etc.

Provide cost-effective and highly compliant IT Solutions to support the planned growth of the business. Involves management responsibility of a team of IT professionals and a number of locations within the business. Management responsibilities include disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.

Key Accountabilities:

People Performance -

  • Uses appropriate processes and tools (competency models, PBO/PR processes, development programmes etc) to recruit, develop, manage the performance (setting expectations, coaching, variety of people issues etc), of a multicultural and highly skilled Team. Ensures they have the capabilities to deliver robustly and cost-effective IT solutions that meet the immediate and longer-term needs of the business.

IT Solutions Justifications and Advice -

  • Aligns with assigned business functions within MEISA and globally, to gain a sound understanding of IT-related needs and priorities. Provides advice relating to available options/risks, influencing as needed to achieve ‘acceptance’ of the strategic approach to IT.
  • Includes presenting, explaining and justifying technical concepts/solutions to high-level functional audiences and reporting relating to any aspect of projects or application management.

Project Management -

  • Supports the Corporation in achieving challenging IT strategies and goals by supporting assigned global projects. Includes involvement with project teams (technical & business) at all stages of complex and critical projects (from proof of concept to implementation)
  • Initiates and/or makes recommendations regarding opportunities to re-use, develop or adapt IT solutions at a global level.

Supporting Business Growth -

  • Designs and develops innovative and effective IT solutions that enable planned business growth whilst also providing significant opportunities to enhance business processes. Solutions must meet/exceed business and technical requirements, be scalable and consistent whilst ensuring alignment with corporate standards and guidelines.

Business Planning -

  • Recommends/implements effective business plans and programmes to ensure the achievement of approved goals and objectives both in the medium & longer term. Plans and manages multiple business-critical projects to ensure the timely achievement of all of the specified project deliverables. Identifies and recommends relevant resources needed to achieve both project and maintenance goals. Balances the use of internal and external resources based on cost, capability and time constraints. Promptly identifies factors that potentially impact goal achievement and takes timely corrective actions.

Vendor Management -

  • Identifies, recommends, and manages IT service providers for large/high-value contracts that support critical and most complex projects/initiatives. Seeks opportunities to achieve synergies and economies of scale. Develops relevant service agreements and manages ongoing performance in accordance with the contractual terms.

Business Continuity-

  • Achieves on-going continuity by recommending and developing effective programmes to support preventative and corrective maintenance of IT infrastructure. Develops and implements effective IT infrastructure lifecycle in alignment with global policies and IT budgets. Advises on prioritisation, develops and implements enhancements required to meet changing business, regulatory or IT requirements.

Technical Standards -

  • Contributes to the definition of IT-related technical and business standards.
  • Supports IT on legal and information security requirements (SOX, Infosec, competition law etc).
  • Implements the agreed standards within IT and user functions and ensures compliance through the use of appropriate monitoring, measurement and reporting tools.

Job Requirements

  • 15 to 20 years of IT experience in diversified field.
  • Project Management.
  • Proven skills - Influencing and persuasion, Judgement and decision making.
  • Leadership Skills, networking, planning and organizing etc.
  • Bachelor Degree .
  • Masters or MBA
