Job Description

Supervise & monitor accounting activities ensuring team performance efficiency supporting on time & accurate department outcome.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensures an accurate & timely month, quarter & year end closing providing all necessary regular & irregular reporting & analysis ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Maintain & reconcile GL accounts as to save accurate realistic UTD balances of GL.
  • Monitors & analyzes department to develop more efficient procedures, team utilization and use of resources while maintaining high level of accuracy.
  • Supervises accounting transactions & operation over cash cycle, AP, AR, inventory, GL, IC, Tax (VAT, Income & withholding), FA and reconciliations supporting over all department goals & objectives.
  • Working with Finance Head to ensure a clean & timely yearend audit.
  • Assist in budget preparation insuring sound control is in place, support forecasting activities.
  • Advising staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transaction.
  • Handle team personnel matters including staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance etc.
  • Save efficiency of financial application modules outcome, assist in development & implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the work flow of the department on the system.
  • Support senior directors with due relevant data.
  • Supporting Head of Finance across special projects and workflow process improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Ten or more years’ experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area including four or more years of leadership experience.
  • Experience over the retail business.
  • Experience working in an audit firm or professional services firm is preferred.
  • Experience working with general accepted accounting principles & standards.
  • Experience with ERP financial accounting system, SAP, Oracle is a plus.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and WinWord.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory, customer service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Years of Experience: 6Years (as a Finance manager, chief accountant or controller).
