Job Summary:
The Network Administrator is administering and overseeing the implementation, organization, and troubleshooting of the network, hardware, and underlying communications protocols.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Administers the installation of data communication lines and equipment.
- Design, implement, deploy, configure, and maintain all network related solutions including Switching, Routing, VPN, Voice, and its related Security systems.
- Manage the assigned network, ensuring optimal function and minimal downtime.
- Monitors and analyzes network load including traffic and utilization trends.
- Ensures networks are protected from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data by developing and monitoring security procedures, firewall or collaborating with network security staff.
- Assists with identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of user data communication problems.
- Drafts checklists, processes, and support trees, and knowledge bases for help desk and other support staff.
- Reports data communications problems, anticipated downtime, and resolution to leadership, colleagues, and other stakeholders at staff meetings and as required.
- Trains operators and technicians on diagnostic and monitoring processes, ensuring staff can install and maintain lines, equipment, and hardware.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering in Communication, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience in similar role preferably in construction, real estate and / or facility management industries.
- At least three years of experience with LAN and WAN technologies, including multiple network operating systems, and protocols, required.
- CCNA and/or CCNP certifications highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Thorough understanding of networking protocols, LAN networking, and WAN networking.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Extensive knowledge of data communications equipment and installation processes.
- Thorough knowledge or firewalls and network security systems.
- Knowledge of Surveillance systems such as CCTV systems, and Electronic Gates.
