Job Description
Key Specific Accountabilities
- Issue daily safety inspection around the store.
- Issue frequently inspection for toilets and kitchen.
- Check the status of the fire suppression systems.
- Check the No. & status of fire extinguishers (standalone).
- Check that Fire Hose Cabinets are charged (through zone valves).
- Respond to and support safety codes.
- Submit safety inductions for any contractor.
- Check that Emergency signs are clear for all.
- Check that Emergency exits are clear, clean & accessible.
- Make sure that all of contractors & IKEA coworkers complying HSE instructions.
- Controlling the operation of lifting machines.
- Check that emergency stairs are smooth, clean and illuminated.
- Monitor the fire alarm panels.
- Fixing any MEP critical Issues based on order from any of Ikea co-workers.
- Check allowed salience for stored goods in the warehouse.
- Check and supervise the traffic of lifts inside the store.
- Performing some installation works (construction works).
- Check assembly points and fix any problem.
- Check safety pins & status of goods racks in Warehouse.
- Check that AC in the store is working properly.
- Check that lighting in the store is working properly.
- Check that elevators, escalators & travellators are working properly.
- Check shutter doors/ dock levelers are working properly.
- Check contents of first aid kits and re-filling it if required.
- Check the normal operation and frequency of chilled water system.
- Check the normal mode and diesel level of generator.
- Check the normal operation of the domestic water pumps.
- Frequently check for critical systems like UPS & CEBS.
- Supervise painting & civil works.
- Supervise MEP maintenance works.
Job Requirements
- Live and share the IKEA values every day.
- High School/Trade School Graduate.
- Minimum 3 years proven experience in building maintenance and daily operations in a management capacity.
- Ideally from Electrical / Mechanical background supporting the asset management and coordinating with the commercial team.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of fire and security systems is an added advantage.
- Clear understanding of customer service guidelines/principles.
- Strong team player and good English communication. Must possess excellent communication skills in speaking, writing, and even in listening.
- Proven commitment to high quality execution within limited time frames and safety is upheld to the highest standards and the store standard operating procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Confident in approaching and communicating clearly with different people in various situations.
