Job Description

Bavaria Alarm is one of Bavaria's Holding subsidiaries that was established in 1996 with the objective of providing fire detection, alarm and ‎automated extinguishing systems.Through Years, Bavaria Alarm enriches its scope to ‎‎include different firefighting systems as Water Based Systems, Gas Suppression Systems and Pre-Engineered Firefighting modular solutions to cover the excessive and progressive market needs.

Accordingly, Bavaria Alarm is requesting to hire an Estimation Engineer to cover the following duties:

Job Purpose:

  • Estimation Engineer helps the company to determine the scope of a project, required contents of the estimate, as well as the costs associated with the project and its impact on the organization, to determine if the project will be financially successful or not.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Determine the scope of the project, review preliminary data and deliverables such as proposal specifications and drawings, as well as attending pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate before a project sets-off.
  • Estimate the costs associated with upcoming projects or Requests for Proposals “RFP’s” and their impact on the organization to determine if the project will be financially successful or not.
  • Review design packages, project drawings, and other deliverables to prepare for the estimation process.
  • Develop and verify Material Take-Off ( MTOs), equipment and bulk quantities against Piping and instrumentation Diagram (P&IDs) and drawings.
  • Utilize subcontractor or vendor cost and proposal data to support estimates and also evaluate and incorporate historical data from past projects, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures to support the estimates for a project.
  • Edit and Update the estimations as the project changes, evaluate changes and review estimations to ensure accurate project development.
  • Assist project management and contracting personnel with bid analysis and contract negotiations.
  • Upgrade on changing developments in estimating advances by reviewing technical literature, contact with contractors, visits to construction locations and attending professional and technical meetings.
  • Prepare shop drawings and submittals, as well as overseeing and reporting submittal status.
  • Define more cost-efficient alternatives to the proposed scope of the project.
  • Perform an assessment on subcontractor proposals to ascertain if the scope is covered and also manage the risk of scope gaps.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferable Mechanical Major.
  • Very good command of English Language both in writing and speaking.
  • Previous experience in fire protection field is a must.
  • 3-5 years of experience at least in performing the same job.
  • Strong analytical and Strategic Planning Skills.
  • Strong Technical Literature and Engineering Costing Experience.
  • Can work within teams and have strong communication skills.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, knowledgeable of different estimation software.
  • AutoCAD knowledge will be an added value.
