Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and well-organised Leader to take responsibility for directing and organising extra-curricular and outreach activities throughout the School. This role is a new position and requires a motivated, pro-active individual, able to work well with and draw together a variety of key departmental areas. The school runs an ambitious programme of sport, music, drama, community service, societies and outdoor activities. It means that the planning and timetabling of the co-curriculum, and the quality and monitoring of students’ involvement, are paramount.

Extended Learning Programme Leader will be expected to:

  • Lead and design an extended learning programme that crosses all GEMS Egypt schools.
  • Provide effective leadership in developing, implementing, evaluating and coordinating co-curricular activity and athletic programs inside/outside Egypt to ensure a wide a range of opportunities are accessible to boys and girls throughout GEMS Schools.
  • Develop and coordinate co-curricular and educational student opportunities that attract, engage, and encourage student participation.
  • Overseeing the provision of information for the pupils, parents and staff.
  • Liaising with the Senior Leadership team to ensure a co-ordinated, streamlined approach for the pupils and staff.
  • Working with the school to ensure a dynamic and effective enrichment programme is available to all pupils throughout Gems Schools.
  • Working with colleagues on School Management team to co-ordinate School events and activities throughout the year, to ensure all staff are making a contribution to the co-curricular life of the school.
  • To develop community service as a central experience to student learning
  • To develop outreach and community relations through the student co-curriculum.
  • Coordinate co-curricular transportation.
  • Serve as liaison local agencies such as civic organizations, fire departments, medical and dental departments and associations.
  • Keep abreast of current research, innovations, and trends in co-curricular programming.
  • Participate in planning and coordination of school educational, recreational, and social/cultural activities with appropriate school personnel and community liaisons, as appropriate.

Job Requirements

The successful applicants will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of two-year experience in extended learning programme/trips planning or relevant field.
  • Experience working with internal and external partners and.
  • Excellent command of English – spoken and written
