Job Description
- Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders; verifies receipt of items; authorizes payment.
- Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price;
- Obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items;
- Obtaining approval from the requisitioning department.
- Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers;
- Monitoring and expediting orders.
- Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
- Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents. Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Select carriers and negotiate contracts and rates. Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries. Supervise logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
- Respond to any issues or complaints.
- Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers. Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
- Collaborate with vendors and transportation workers to ensure efficient and on-time shipment of all materials
- Create detailed orders based on production needs to ensure all necessary equipment and materials are acquired
- Update incoming/outgoing shipment, inventory and accounting paperwork daily, carefully checking for discrepancies in arrival times, invoices and revenue
- Track delivery status and truck routes to ensure the product is delivered efficiently, ensuring on-time deliveries
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- 1-4 years of experience in a similar position.
- Experience in a trading company is highly preferable
- Basic knowledge in SAP ERP System
- Candidates from Nasr City or nearby areas are preferable.
- Excellent command of English.
