Job Description
- Build and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders - both national and local level
- Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges
- Manage an external public relations agency who focus on community engagement initiatives
- Write, develop and manage approvals for new CSR projects, fact sheets, and related materials for Amazon’s operations business
- Research and integrate news, trends and compelling angles into our community programs
- Deliver communications counsel to internal executives on both short- and long-term challenges and opportunities
- Develop and manage the execution of external engagement programs in cities with Amazon operations such as high-visibility events, community donations with locally elected officials.
- Work as part of a global team, developing innovative internal communications strategies, clear narratives and clever tactics that are tailored to, and engage, MENA Operations employee base;
- Oversee the implementation of the global news agenda, content and channels across MENA;
- Shared responsibly to develop the agenda building in MENA Operations-specific communication strategies, programs and content;
- Proactively build and manage relationships with key MENA Operations internal stakeholders across a range of businesses, functions and locations;
- Provide expert internal communications counsel to MENA Operations stakeholders and senior leaders within the organization taking account of the legal and nuances across MENA;
- Manage change, internal policy, labour relations, and issues and crisis communications to support day to day business needs;
Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years' of public relations or community relations experience
- Ability to travel up to 30 percent of the time to communities across the region
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications
- Exemplary written and oral communications skills in English and Arabic
- Exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes
- Think and communicate clearly – the ability to formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it
