Job Description

Job Summary :

Plan, direct, or coordinate activities designed to create or maintain a favourable public image or raise issue awareness for their organisation or client.

Tasks & responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain the university’s  image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage.
  • Develop, implement, or maintain crisis communication plans .
  • Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the Organisation's marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal.
  • Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services for chapters in the area of marketing, communications and public relations.
  • Responsible for the achievement of marketing communications public relations mission, goals and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the Executive Director and Board.
  • Develop implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing communications public relations function.
  • Act as the Organisation's representative with the media.
  • Involve developing digital communication strategies and overseeing their implementation.
  • Responsibility for monitoring the effectiveness of the website and other digital platforms.
  • Design, and implement MQ’s digital strategy working across the organisation.
  • Managing website, including copy writing and editing, setting and using analytics to regularly measure, evaluate and optimise all digital communications activity.
  • Evaluate advertising and promotion programs for compatibility with public relations efforts.
  • Develop, implement, or maintain crisis communication plans.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in mass communication, business or related degree.
  • Fluent in English Writing & speaking.
  • Preferable PR Diploma or/ Master degree.

Skills:

  • Microsoft office, good communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong written, oral communications, research, proofreading, and leadership skills.
  • Good understanding of all aspects of digital communications and social media.
  • Be able to keep up to date with new developments as they happen.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.

Abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and under stress.
