Job Description

Position Summary:

AMIDEAST seeks a Program Lead for the Sawiris Linkage Program and additional grant programs in the English Language Department. The Program Lead works under general supervision and performs a variety of tasks related to project implementation, client management, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting. The Program Lead will draft programmatic documents, reports, and timelines, and will ensure excellent client satisfaction throughout the delivery of designated programs. The Program Lead will also be responsible for delegating and following up on tasks with junior staff.

Responsibilities:

  • In close collaboration with Program Manager, ensure that assigned projects achieve set deliverables, meet organizational quality standards and budgetary requirements, are well planned, resourced and properly tracked;
  • Ensure timely and efficient project implementation of approved activities, monitoring timelines, tracking budgets, and supporting financial management;
  • Delegate to assigned project support staff;
  • With Program Manager, represent AMIDEAST in stakeholder meetings; communicate with client representatives, as well as other partners;
  • Resolve issues in project start-up and close-out; manage agreements; ensure quick processing of project finance transactions, approval and handling of program files;
  • Monitor agreements, assure coordination of travel and logistics, and oversee the facilitation of payment requests as needed;
  • Recommend improvements to project management standard operating procedures;
  • Ensure compliance of project-related documentation including work plans, communications, and transactions ensuring they are properly documented, including reviewing project-related invoices;
  • Elevate risks and opportunities to senior project management;
  • Serve as a liaison with HR, Finance, and Procurement;
  • Assume other roles and responsibilities as appropriate and necessary;
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely technical, statistical, and financial reports for assigned projects to partners, donors, and to AMIDEAST HQ;

Coordinate with AMIDEAST HQ, AMIDEAST Alexandria, and other AMIDEAST Field Offices as needed

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A. in a relevant field and five years of related project management experience;
  • Native speaker level fluency in spoken and written English; and Fluency in Arabic;
  • Experience working in or significant exposure to communities in Upper Egypt;
  • Experience supervising or facilitating the work of junior staff members;
  • Experience interacting with client representatives and other project stakeholders;
  • Experience in writing reports; developing and monitoring proposal and project budgets;
  • Experience organizing and managing program/project knowledge/information;
  • Strong writing and editing skills; excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills;
  • Ability to assume responsibilities for large-scale projects;
  • Exceptional ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently;
  • Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Knowledge of project management software (MS Project, Asana, Mavenlink, etc.); and
  • Excellent written and oral Arabic and English

Preferred:

  • Graduate degree in education, international development, business, or other relevant field;
  • Education, short-term study or work experience in the United States.
  • Previous work experience with large international NGO
