Job Description
- Minimize the total cost of goods through control over inventory stocks and material flows. This covers the ability to reduce the value of cover and ensure the obsolescence risk is controlled.
- Ensure that the costs of moving materials are minimized, and service requirements delivered.
- Use Supply Chain knowledge in helping to develop a reliable demand management system for local brands, as well as identifying gaps in the demand process with different customers and bridging these gaps through active cooperation to minimize forecast errors and streamline the S & OP procedure.
- Ensure close coordination with warehouse and facilitate WH to implement best practices for warehouse management and manage warehousing costs and storage capacity, including making regular storage capacity studies and estimating associated costs resulting from study recommendations.
- Ensure the best advantage is obtained from any contractual or pricing discussion.
- Ensuring suitable measures are in place and used to monitor current performance and drive future improvements.
- Given current and expected requirements develop and gain approval for a clear plan to meet space needs that clearly show improved costs of storage over the current state.
- Define and administer supply agreements with customers and suppliers that ensure supply costs is suitably controlled, and service levels agreed, monitored and delivered.
- Maintain good business relationships with the customer and provide the best services in terms of supply and services.
- Understand principles and implement relevant processes and systems, as part of delivering the vision of best in class supply practices. This includes SAP and other processes.
- Lead and control all SAP related projects, activities, data authenticity and ERP system.
- Direct production planning functions to maximize productivity whilst delivering the required levels of customer service.
- Manage the materials planning cycle to secure material requirements in line with the production plans, while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Ensure visible performance monitoring linked to the system and process measures
- Capacity plan for the coming year: Ensure planning exercises completed, and measures put in place to ensure that we can meet the expected volumes.
- Understand best in class production processes and support improvement initiatives to implement them.
- Ensure that team members are trained and follow defined processes and monitors the results from their activities.
- Succession plan in place for all, with clear stand-up rules and development plans.
- Establish an effective communication structure that ensures all employees are up to date with performance and company news.
